Solar park Vossenberg

Place 14,000 solar panels on an area of 8 hectares (ha), of which 2 ha consists of landscaping and fruit orchard. In early 2021, the college of mayors and aldermen of the municipality of Laarbeek chose TPSolar’s solar park initiative as its fifth and final pilot project. The project is located at Vossenberg in Mariahout and will generate 8.6 MW. This is equal to the annual consumption of over 2,500 average Dutch households.

Landscaping with an eye on partridge, bush birds & badger

TPSolar’s goal is to develop a solar park that contributes to increasing partridge, ostrich and badger habitat. This will include beetle banks, partridge hedges with nut- and berry-bearing species and flower blocks.

Participation

TPSolar strives to involve local residents closely in its projects. There are two categories of resident participation. The first category is plan participation. To this end, we held kitchen table discussions with local residents to incorporate their advice and ideas into the design and organized a residents’ meeting.

It is also possible for local residents to participate financially in the solar park in various ways. For example, an area fund will be established and it will be possible to participate in this project through a bond scheme.

What’s next?

In 2022, TPSolar received the permit and the approval for the SDE++ subsidy. This means that the preparations for the construction work can start. We hope to start building the solar park in 2024.
