Solar park Ficarystraat will open her doors on the ‘Open Energy Day’: Saturday 21st of September, between 10 am – 2 pm! More can be found here.
Installing 18,000 solar panels on an area of 10 hectares. The Beuningen municipal council published the Location Plan advice from the area council in 2019. This established locations and guidelines for sustainable energy in rural areas. TPSolar used this knowledge to develop a plan for two solar parks: Schoenaker and Ficarystraat. The Ficarystraat solar park has a capacity of 12.5 MW. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of 3,700 average Dutch households.
Municipality of Beuningen
TPSolar submitted Zonnepark Ficarystraat to the municipality of Beuningen in February 2020. Five spatial development experts and municipal officials assess this initiative.
The outcome? The solar park on Ficarystraat could be further developed! We have received an environmental permit for the project in 2021. In June 2024, we were officially connected to the grid, to the same connection as Solar Park Schoenaker.
Fitting with the character of the area
The solar park fits seamlessly with the landscape, cultural-historical and social values of the rural area. The conditions set by the province of Gelderland and the municipality of Beuningen form the basis for the development plan.
Our starting point? Maintain and – where possible – strengthen the characteristics of the basin area. Think of characteristic landscape elements and spatial structures. We introduce vegetation to create a habitat for native bees, insects and field birds. The panels are placed at a maximum height of 1.5 meters to maintain the vastness of the environment.
Resident participation
Resident participation consists of two parts: plan participation and financial participation. With plan participation you can think about the plans, design, layout, management and maintenance of the solar park. Residents living near the solar park are actively involved through information on the website and social media, information meetings and kitchen table discussions. Financial participation is co-investing and/or experiencing the benefits of the returns from a solar park. TPSolar works together with energy cooperative EnergieVoorVier. Together we offer local residents the opportunity to participate financially, a benefit on their energy bill and TPSolar makes a contribution to the area fund. The work on the solar park will be contracted out locally as much as possible to create employment.
