Environmental permit for solar park Berkelweide

Municipality Lochem has given an environmental permit for solar park Berwelweide of TPSolar. The solar park consists of 23.500 solar panels and will be located next to the Kanaaldijk.

Feasibility Study
The feasibility study of TPSolar has shown, according to the municipality, that the construction and 25 years of operation of the solar park at the proposed project location fit within the national, provincial and municipality policies and the spatial structure.

The current landowner is a retired dairy farmer who leases the property to his successor. TPSolar buys the property, in agreement with both parties, so that the current tenant can obtain a better property somewhere else. The property is currently used for the production of grass for private use.

Wishes of local residents
The wishes of local residents, municipality, water authority, and the existing landscape features are all taken into account to make a design plan. Within this plan, the 23.500 solar panels are all situated optimally. The total capacity of the solar park is 9,4 Megawatt.

TPSolar started the construction of a solar park on the former landfill Armhoude elsewhere in Lochem in September. That solar park consists of 23.000 solar panels.
